I recently completed this oil painting I call Only The Courageous-dedicated to the firefighters of Miami Texas-Roberts County and all those that volunteered in the devastion for the worst wildfire in Texas history February 2024-The Smokehouse Wildfire. This is the second painting of such, as Perseverance was completed, donated, and sold at a victims fund raising auction April 2024-gifted by the buyer-Judge Christy Dyer (Randall County Texas) to the citizens of Canadian Texas-Hemphill County; another of the four Panhandle counties affected by this disaster. I'm deeply touched by the heroism of our firefighters who put others lives first over their own. See the Gallery Section for my poem. Richard.
