Just us pal's reliving the 'Ole West, a steady steed to carry us...
Sherman "Russ" Warren and I were lifelong friends from college days at Oklahoma State, who first ventured into the Big Bend Nat'l park in 1976 to attend the world championship Chili Cookoff in the Terlingua ghost town.We didn't like all the loud hooping and hollering 'goins-on, so we left rather quickly to the backcountry serenity of the nearby Chisos Mountains. It was there that I fell literally in love with all things Big Bend, and began to paint this wonderous desert landscape. Russ and I would sojourn to BB many times over the next forty years often stepping back into simpler times on a steady steed up into the mountains with the Lajitas Stables. -RAS-
